What Tom Brady had to say after leading the Patriots over the Dolphins

"Everyone loves Jules and loves having him back."

Tom Brady looks on after the New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins 38-7.

Tom Brady’s heard and said enough. The time for talking is through and the Patriots quarterback is ready to see some action.

After leading the Patriots to a 38-7 victory over the Dolphins, Brady was asked if his message — that New England needed to improve their execution — had gotten through this week.

“Obviously you can talk about it a lot but it what’s you do,” he responded. “What you say’s important, but what you do’s more important. I think we’ve got to do more doing and less saying and just get the job done. We did a good job of that today.”

Brady led by example against Miami, completing 23 passes for 274 yards, three touchdowns, and a 94.2 passer rating. He noted the Patriots “needed” the win following two lackluster defeats, but added the Patriots focus has already shifted to Thursday against the Colts.

“Hopefully we can build on it, gain some confidence in some things,” the 41-year old said. “It’s a quick turnaround so it’s good to win and we got to get ready to go again here shortly.”

The Patriots offense will receive reinforcement ahead of the Indianapolis matchup. Julian Edelman’s four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy ended with the Miami game.

Brady is looking forward to the return of one of his favorite targets.

“It’ll be great to have him,” he said. “I mean, we haven’t seen him in four weeks but I know he’ll be ready. It’s a short week so I’m sure he’ll be in here ready to go. Everyone loves Jules and loves having him back.”

While No. 12 was pleased with the win over an AFC East opponent, he recognized the challenges that lie ahead. The Patriots face the Colts, the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs, the Chicago Bears, and the Buffalo Bills in October.

“Hopefully we’re a lot better in October than we were in September,” Brady said. “And we’re going to need it, because we face some good competition.”
