The Patriots’ dismal performance drew big ratings

It was the highest-rated Week 3 game on "Sunday Night Football" since 2015.

“Sunday Night Football” on NBC was the top-rated prime-time program of the night despite (or perhaps because of) a Patriots performance that was anything but first-rate.

The Lions’ 26-10 win over the Patriots earned a 13.6 share, per NBC. It was the highest-rated Week 3 game on “Sunday Night Football” since Peyton Manning and the Broncos played the Lions in 2015.

Locally, the broadcast earned a 31.1 rating and a 48 share, making Boston the top-rated market nationally. Providence was second (30.5/48), while Detroit was third (28.0/44).
