Tom Brady congratulates Randy Moss on Hall of Fame induction
“I regret all those times I didn’t throw it to you deep, Randy.”
When Tom Brady leafs through the mental archives, plenty of fond memories come to mind with his former go-to deep threat Randy Moss.
Many of those snapshots are touchdowns or wins, but there’s also a different scenario that Brady still cherishes.
Brady, in a short video through the NFL Twitter channel on Saturday, congratulated Moss on the wide receiver’s Hall of Fame induction. He reminisced mostly about the passes he elected not to throw Moss’s way.
“I’d say ‘Randy, were you open? Did you get him?’” Brady recalled in the video. “And Randy would look at me, because a lot of times he had deep routes.”
“Congratulations to a great friend and teammate!”

Then, Brady recollected, Moss would put up both hands, signifying that it would have been a touchdown if Brady had gone his direction. The duo did connect on 23 TD passes during a perfect 2007 regular season, but Brady still laughs as he points out the ones that didn’t happen.
“I regret all those times I didn’t throw it to you deep, Randy,” Brady said.
He also called Moss, who caught 50 touchdown passes in three-plus years with the Patriots, an incredible player, teammate, and friend. Brady missed nearly all of the 2008 season, but the lethal pairing was back at it in 2009.
Brady and Moss were never able to combine on a Super Bowl, but they did shatter the record books in that 2007 season. Many years later, it’s clear they’re still on good terms.
Said Brady: “I love you, man, and congratulations.”
