Tom Brady’s Super Bowl hype video flashes back to the Patriots’ college days
The lion’s awake.
Tom Brady shared a pump-up video on Instagram Sunday morning, hours away from Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. The video includes clips of his New England teammates when they were in college, from Danny Amendola at Texas Tech to Brandin Cooks at Oregon State.
The voiceover is provided by Herb Brooks’s famous speech in Miracle, preparing his USA hockey players in the locker room before they faced the Soviet Union at the 1980 Olympics. Brooks, played by Kurt Russell, says, “Great moments are born from great opportunity, and that’s what you have here tonight boys. That’s what you’ve earned here tonight.”
The Patriots have earned a chance to compete for the Lombardi Trophy Sunday at 6:30 p.m. against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brady, who was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Saturday night for the third time, is chasing his sixth Super Bowl ring.
Brady and Julian Edelman also posted Super Bowl hype videos Saturday.
