In the immediate aftermath of the New England Patriots’ 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII, quarterback Tom Brady walked toward the locker room as confetti shot into the air, his face a picture of abject dejection.

Brady’s look of despair likely mirrored that of many Patriots fans in bars and living rooms across New England. They had come so close to a sixth Super Bowl victory, only to watch Brady get sacked and fumble the ball late in the fourth quarter, then throw a last-second Hail Mary that fell incomplete.

Here’s the story of the final two-plus minutes of Super Bowl 52, as told through images of the Patriots franchise quarterback.
