Tom Brady sheds some light on his ‘fluke injury’
After not discussing his hand injury last week, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shed some light Sunday on what happened in an interview on the Westwood One Sports pregame show for the AFC Championship.
“It was just a very fluke injury,’’ said Brady. “There was a collision in practice. My hand suffered a bit of an injury, but hopefully I can go out there and still be really effective.’’
When asked if he was bleeding as a result of the injury, Brady chose not to get into specifics.
Brady was asked if the injury is painful.
“I think all injuries are to a degree, but I’m going to try minimize that as best as possible,’’ he said.
Brady was hoping to avoid using any painkillers
“I prefer not to be too numb. I’d love to be able to feel the ball as best as possible. This is a game of inches, especially with the No. 1 rated pass defense in the league, I don’t think you can be off by much. The more I can play without any numbing cream or medication, the better I’ll feel,’’ he said.
