Richard Sherman defended the hit on Rob Gronkowski in the AFC Championship
"Would love to see some of these fans play the game."
In the second quarter of the AFC Championship Game, Rob Gronkowski suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jaguars safety Barry Church. The collision forced the Patriots tight end into the concussion protocol, but one of the NFL’s premier defensive backs took to Twitter to offer some context.

Richard Sherman, a Patriots nemesis in previous years, said that Church’s hit on Gronkowski was “the only way”:
The hit on Gronk is the only way Church could have done his job without just obliterating Gronks knee. If he would have just hit him low most ppl would calm him dirty. So there is nothing he can do to make everyone happy and do his job. Unless you think he should let him catch

In a previous Patriots-Seahawks matchup, Sherman’s teammate Earl Thomas made a legal impact hit on Gronkowski:
