How the Patriots turned a Malcolm Butler interception into a Gronk touchdown in less than 30 seconds

With less than a minute to go in the first half against the Jets on Sunday, the Patriots not only trailed 14-7, but were looking at another potential New York score. Yet moments later, it was the away team celebrating a touchdown in a dramatic shift.

The sequence began with a Malcolm Butler interception. On 2nd and 12 at the New England 49-yard line, Jets quarterback Josh McCown tried to find Robby Anderson on the sideline. Butler stepped in front to create the turnover:

After moving the ball efficiently into Jets’ territory, Tom Brady went deep to Brandin Cooks for 42 yards. The play took New England to the one-yard line:
