The Patriots host the Carolina Panthers at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, and Bill Belichick’s team will have Dont’a Hightower back on the active roster. One of the leaders of New England’s defense, Hightower has been out since spraining his knee in the season opener against the Chiefs.

Marcus Cannon – who missed the previous game against the Texans – returns as well. Running back Rex Burkhead and special teams ace Matthew Slater are among the team’s inactives against the Panthers.
