Robert Kraft says he feels pretty ‘lucky’ to be unveiling his team’s fifth Super Bowl banner in 15 years this Thursday, marking a stark difference from the success the Patriots achieved during their four decades of existence.

“We had one playoff game in those 35 years, which we lost to Houston in ’78,” Kraft told The Boston Globe in a recent interview published Saturday. “And now we’ve owned the team 23 years and we’ve had 23 home playoff games, and we’ve won 20.”

The recent run of success, however, isn’t stopping the Patriots owner from savoring the team’s most recent title.

“Probably 15,” Kraft said, when asked how many times he has rewatched the team’s historic comeback against the Atlanta Falcons.

“Sometimes if I feel I’ve been a bad boy and I’ve got to do longer on the elliptical, if I have that [game], especially the second half, I can do it,” he said. “I don’t like the first half at all.”

Given that answer, the Globe‘s Ben Volin said it sounded like Kraft hasn’t yet jumped on the bandwagon of Patriots following Tom Brady’s stringent diet.

“No, no,” Kraft said. “Just the avocado ice cream.”

Last March, the Patriots owner told reporters he wasn’t sure Brady’s favorite dessert was right for him.

“But if I could look like him and perform half as well, I guess I’d do it,” he said at the time.

Maybe’s he’s coming around.
