In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey’s devastating effects on the Houston area, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick showed his support by donning a University of Houston baseball cap at his press conference on Thursday night.

He opened his remarks by saying, “I want to give a little shout out to Houston.”

“We had a great experience down there in February, a lot of great relationships with the Texans and the university down there,” Belichick continued. “We’ve got some players with some family down there, so we just want to let them know we’re thinking about them.”

The Patriots won Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston and also held joint practices with the Texans ahead of a preseason game in Houston.

A number of Patriots hail from Texas, including defensive linemen Malcolm Brown, Adam Butler, and Deatrich Wise Jr.; offensive linemen Marcus Cannon and Cameron Fleming; linebacker Elandon Roberts; defensive back Eric Rowe; running back Rex Burkhead; and wide receiver Danny Amendola. A few also played college football in the Lone Star state, namely Amendola (Texas Tech) and Cannon (Texas Christian).

Additionally, the team’s wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea was born in Houston and coached at the university from 1996 to 1999, while offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia previously worked at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
