Tom Brady and fellow starters to rest in preseason finale: According to the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe, third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett will get the start Thursday night against the New York Giants. Howe speculates that head coach Bill Belichick could also make a last-minute change by swapping in Jimmy Garoppolo to simulate a potential in-game experience for the backup quarterback. But that possibility seems unlikely as of now.
Celtics add 2nd-round pick to complete blockbuster trade with Cavaliers: Concerned with medical findings after looking at Thomas’ injured right hip, the Cavs have negotiated another draft pick from Boston to compete the mega-deal that stalled, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Wednesday night.
