In the closing seconds of the first half against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, second-string quarterback Jimmy Garappolo hit a leaping Austin Carr to record New England’s first official preseason touchdown.

The rookie’s three-yard reception narrowed the Patriots’ first half deficit to 17-10.
