The Patriots will host their first joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Red Sox have a well-deserved day off after sweeping the White Sox, and Isaiah Thomas says he should be ready for the start of Celtics training camp.

Newcomers Brandin Cooks, Kony Ealy, and David Harris are listed as starters in the Patriots’ recently released unofficial depth chart. All rookies were listed behind veterans:

Isaiah Thomas keeps focus on his health and Celtics’ title quest: “The hip is great,” said Thomas, who didn’t seem bothered by it as he played with campers yesterday. “It’s a real slow rehab process, but it’s getting better and that’s what it’s all about.” (Boston Herald)

Chris Young’s 2 HRs, 5 RBIs carries Red Sox past White Sox 6-3: “Yeah, you definitely feel better if you get the job done in that situation,” Young said. “If you don’t get the job done, you feel a little worse than if the game’s kind of going as it normally does.” (Boston.com, via AP)
