Here’s what’s on Julian Edelman’s summer playlist

While it’s not uncommon to find athletes jamming out to pump-up tunes in the locker room before a big game, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman loves to rock out during the offseason as well.

During the summer months, Bostonians can often find Edelman skateboarding along the Charles River down the Esplanade. The 31-year-old told Boston.com: “It’s a pretty cool time where you just throw the headphones on, not worry about anything and enjoy the scenic route. I like doing that.”

Although he sticks to the fundamentals when it comes to his game, Edelman is “all over the spectrum” when it comes to his taste in music.

“My mix is pretty insane,” he said. “You’ll have some Snoop Dogg, some N.W.A., some Jay-Z, some Eminem, and then all of a sudden, you’ll have M83’s “Outro,” some Steely Dan, the Steve Miller band, Rolling Stones, Marvin Gaye. Literally, I’m all over.”

Back in 2013, the California native participated in an “Ask Me Anything” thread on Reddit, where he shared what he likes to listen to while driving in the car. It turns out Edelman’s preferences were equally as “random” three years ago.
