Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning was ruthless on the field against the New England Patriots, and the 41-year-old has no plans to change his approach as host of the ESPY awards on Wednesday night.

During a recent episode of his late-night talk show, Jimmy Kimmel — having co-hosted the sports awards ceremony with LeBron James in 2007 — talked to Manning about his upcoming gig.

“Tom Brady. Is he somebody that you will make fun of?” Kimmel asked. “As a fellow great quarterback, do you feel that you have to leave him be?”

“No, the Patriots won the Super Bowl, so they are obviously a part of the show,” Manning said. “I think the one thing that I will do from the get-go and really throughout the show is make fun of myself, pretty heavily. I don’t take myself too seriously; I think it’s important to laugh at yourself. So I’m doing that a lot, which I think gives me a pretty good platform to maybe have fun with anybody else.”

He concluded his circuitous response, however, with a foreboding statement:  “Tom’s fair game.”
