Tom Brady took a photo with the Stanley Cup—and Pittsburgh fans are not happy about it

There’s a good number of photos of Tom Brady with the NFL’s Lombardi Trophy. After all, he did win five of them.

However, it appears the New England Patriots quarterback has been spending time with another hallowed professional sports trophy.

Philip Pritchard, the Hockey Hall of Fame’s official keeper of the Stanley Cup, tweeted a photo Friday of Brady with the NHL trophy.

It wasn’t immediately clear when or where the photo was taken.

Brady has recently been spending time in Montana, as he often does during the offseason. The Stanley Cup, however, recently traveled from Chicago to San Diego, according to Pritchard’s Twitter feed. The trophy began its 2017 championship tour June 30 with Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Chad Ruhwedel.

As several outlets noted Friday, many fans — particularly Pittsburgh fans — were not pleased to see Brady with his hands on the Stanley Cup, given the Patriots-Steelers rivalry.

Well, it wouldn’t be the first time Brady has been a thorn in the side of Steelers fans. And it’s somewhat thematically appropriate considering that the quarterback spent time at his son’s hockey tournament before beating Pittsburgh in this year’s playoffs.
