Julian Edelman may have entertained the idea of opening up a seafood restaurant called Edelman’s Catch, but the New England Patriots wide receiver appears to have found his true calling in a different facet of the food industry: restaurant reviews.

In a recently uploaded YouTube video entitled “One Nibble with Julian Edelman,” the 31-year-old proclaims that he is on a mission “to go around New England and try every single pizza place they have” — an obvious spoof on “One Bite with Davey Pageviews,” a series started by Barstool Sports’ founder Dave Portnoy.

The premiere of “One Nibble” features a cheese pie from Papa Gino’s as well as a guest reviewer, Food Network host Guy Fieri. Very little of the duo’s commentary is spent actually discussing the quality of the pizza, as they are too busy repeating the show title and tag line, “One Nibble: Everyone knows the laws,” or as Fieri calls it, “One Snack: Everybody knows the guidelines.”

A man who Edelman introduces as “David Protnoy” makes a brief appearance, wearing Barstool merchandise, to plug the actual tagline of Portnoy’s series, “One Bite: Everybody knows the rules.”

In April, Edelman was a special guest on a Boston edition of Barstool’s pizza review show in which he was already promoting, “One Nibble: Everyone knows the laws.” He discussed East Boston’s Santarpio’s Pizza with Portnoy, a Swampscott native.

Following the launch of his new competition, Portnoy had three words for its propagator, “Cease and desist.”
