FOXBOROUGH — A crowded running backs room isn’t going to intimidate new Patriots running back Mike Gillislee. He’s used to competition.

“Yeah, that’s everywhere,’’ Gillislee said Tuesday morning as he took a break from his workout routine at Gillette Stadium. “Every team has competition. You can never get comfortable in this league. We’ve got a great group of guys here and I just look forward to competing with them.’’

Gillislee joins a corps that includes James White, Dion Lewis, Rex Burkhead, Brandon Bolden, D.J. Foster, and rookie LeShun Daniels.

The Patriots signed the restricted free agent to a two-year offer sheet that the Bills declined to match. New England had to surrender a fifth-round pick in last week’s draft as compensation.
