NASA enthusiast Martellus Bennett is worried about NASA
"I’m a little worried about everything to be honest."
Martellus Bennett is preparing for the biggest football game of his career, but he is also still reacting to President Donald Trump’s early days in office like many other Americans.
A well established fan of NASA, Bennett wore his now-trademark NASA baseball hat to Super Bowl LI Opening Night on Monday in Houston. When asked if he was worried about the future of the government’s space administration, Bennett said, “A little bit.”
He followed up with a slight qualifier.
“I know Elon Musk is a part of his group,” Bennett said. “But yeah, I’m a little worried about everything to be honest.”
Despite the Patriots’ reputation under Bill Belichick for not discussing controversial non-football subjects, Bennett hasn’t shied away from letting his thoughts be known during the 2016 season. In September, Bennett joined with teammate Devin McCourty to hold their fists up following the national anthem following a discussion with other NFL players in response to 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel to protest oppression of African-Americans and other minorities in America.
