FOXBOROUGH — Martellus Bennett has a new sweatshirt. He has been wearing it around the Patriots locker room lately, and it says a lot about him.

It’s a black hoodie with Bennett, in cartoon form, on the front. Bennett loves to draw, and he’s very aware of his own image. The hashtag #FootballMarty, which references the tight end’s clothing brand, the coordinates of Gillette Stadium, and the words “Every Sunday” are printed on the back.

It’s the back of the sweatshirt that’s most telling. Bennett would like to stay in New England beyond this season, when his one-year deal with the Patriots expires. He said so Thursday.
