The Patriots cruised past the Rams, but lost another offensive weapon.

Teammates awestruck after Brady’s 201st win: ‘A walking legend’: When Tom Brady collected his 201st win yesterday, the most in NFL history, he was understandably excited. But after the game, Brady deflected away praise. Instead, his teammates had no trouble praising the quarterback. “[Brady has] the most wins in quarterback history in the NFL, but he still comes to work like he hasn’t accomplished anything,” Butler said. “I look up to that. Much respect and congratulations.” (NESN)

Julian Edelman: ‘[Tom Brady] should be the face of this league’: Julian Edelman, one of Brady’s closest confidantes, had ample praise for the quarterback’s achievement. “I’ve watched him play since I was like in eighth grade and I’ve been here for eight years,” Edelman said. “Everything he’s done he’s deserved. He should be the face of this league with how his story, how he prepares — he’s a family man. Couldn’t happen to anyone better.” (WEEI)

Danny Amendola reportedly suffers high-ankle sprain:

Patriots disguises fooled Rams and Jared Goff: In what has been dubbed the best defensive performance of the season, a significant factor in earning that accolade was a varied and effective pass rush. Chris Long, Logan Ryan, Rob Ninkovich and Shea McLellin all tallied sacks. Jabaal Sheard and Kyle Van Noy hurried and hit quarterback Jared Goff, and Sheard had three batted passes while Van Noy had an interception. But it was strong scheme as much as execution. Some scenarios that could develop at the Winter Meetings: Turning to baseball for a moment, the Red Sox were disappointed to see potential designated hitters Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday sign with the Astros and Yankees respectively. But there is still plenty of time for a deal to be made, and Chris Sale appears to be on the block… for a steep price. Would it behoove the Red Sox to send Jackie Bradley Jr., Yoan Moncada, Blake Swihart and Eduardo Rodriguez for Sale? (Boston Globe)
