Tom Brady on injured knee: “I’ll be feeling a lot better out there”: Speaking prior to Thursday night’s Vikings-Cowboys game, Tom Brady reiterated comments that he’ll be ready to go this weekend. “I told you on Monday night I am a fast healer,” he said. “I’m feeling so much better today.” (WEEI)
Rob Gronkowski expected to miss remainder of season after surgery: The Patriots and Gronkowski family released a joint statement following the news that Rob would undergo surgery for a back injury suffered against the Seahawks. According to the statement, the team does not expect him to return, but has held off on making a firm determination. (Boston.com)
Rams try to clear up Jeff Fisher’s comments about Patriots running backs: Following some confusion regarding comments made by Jeff Fisher, the Rams attempted to clarify the coach’s statement. While discussing the Patriots’ weapons, he was not referring to Danny Woodhead, but former Ram Danny Amendola. (Boston Globe)
Isaiah Thomas vents about latest Celtics loss:
Following another tough loss, this time against the Pistons at the Garden, Isaiah Thomas admitted his continued frustration. Pressed for specifics, Thomas said, “Everything about the game, the loss. . . . And a few more other things, but I’m not going to get into that.” (Boston Herald)
David Pastrnak scores shootout winner to beat Hurricanes: Playing against former BC defenseman Noah Hanifin, the Bruins overcame an offensive drought most of the game to force a shootout. Claude Julien elected to use Ryan Spooner, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak as his top three, and both Spooner and Pastrnak scored while Anton Khudobin made two of three saves. (NESN)
