Morning Sports Update: Rob Gronkowski reportedly not expected to miss time with back injury
Gronkowski started yesterday's game, but left with a back injury.
The Patriots squeaked out a victory Sunday evening, and the Bruins won decisively over the Lightning.
Gronkowski’s back injury doesn’t appear serious, for now: A source told Mike Florio of NBC Sports that Rob Gronkowski’s back injury, suffered in yesterday’s 22-17 win over the Jets, is not expected to keep him off the field. The source said the initial indications were that the injury was not serious, and based on the current situation it appears that the tight end could play this Sunday against the Rams. Malcolm Mitchell gets redemption in game-winning touchdown: After a potential touchdown slipped through his grasp on a full-extension effort, Malcolm Mitchell said he felt guilty about potentially costing his team the game. “Of course I was down because it should have been a catch,” Mitchell said, adding that his teammates encouraged him to make up for it. Mitchell did just that when he beat Darrelle Revis for his second touchdown of the day to take the lead. (Providence Journal)
