After breaking a Patriots record, Rob Gronkowski got a surprise phone call in the locker room following the 41-25 win against the Bills on Sunday.

“Stanley Morgan actually called me to congratulate me,” Gronkowski said in his postgame press conference.

Morgan was the previous record-holder of the all-time Patriots touchdown receptions. Gronkowski eclipsed that mark by hauling in his 69th career touchdown catch.

Gronkowski was honored to get the call from the 61-year-old retired wideout.

“To get a phone call from him already after the game in the locker room was something special,” Gronkowski explained.

Morgan played for the Patriots from 1977-1989, averaging 19.4 yard-per-catch while in New England. Gronkowski, only 27, has overtaken the record in his seventh season with the Patriots.
