Rob Gronkowski understands the business reasons for his brother getting cut by the Patriots
"It was great having my brother here."
At the moment in the season when Rob Gronkowski appears to be regaining his usual form, he had to grapple with the tough circumstances of football’s business side.
His brother, Glenn, was recently cut from the Patriots practice squad after being signed earlier in October. Rob, who is four years older than Glenn, reacted to the news in a recent press conference when he was asked about how he reacted to the Patriots personnel move:
“I’m doing good,” Gronkowski said. “He’s a good player and he played – I was super impressed with him how he played. But it’s the nature of the business. I don’t make any of the personnel decisions here. Hopefully we see him back.”
And when asked if he “enjoyed the time” that Glenn had with the Patriots, Rob responded:
Oh yeah, it was great having my brother here. Going home, he was living with me and stuff, too, so it was always great being able to hang out, talk to him at night, crack jokes, get along with each other. But it’s the nature of the business, and like I said, hopefully we’ll get him back. I believe that when I saw him, he did a great job when he was here.
