Rob Gronkowski welcomed Tom Brady back to the Patriots lineup with two catches for 53 yards during the opening drive. After being limited for the first few weeks of the season, Gronkowski showed his more familiar catch-and-run style.
On 3rd and 8, Brady found Gronkowski over the middle. Following the catch, the Patriots tight end broke a string of tackles, rumbling down to the two-yard line. The drive, which culminated in a LeGarrette Blount touchdown, gave New England a 7-0 lead:
