Martellus Bennett welcomes Tom Brady back in the best way: With 3 touchdown catches

Tom Brady throwing touchdown passes to his tight end may seem like nothing new.

But in the Patriots quarterback’s first game back from suspension Sunday, it wasn’t Rob Gronkowski, but Martellus Bennett, who was finding the end zone. And less then three minutes into the second half, Bennett had done it three times.

The newly signed Patriots tight end easily handled Brady’s first touchdown pass of the season, walking in a seven-yard reception (even if he didn’t exactly execute on the spike).

In the second quarter, Brady and Bennett again connected for six, this time from five yards out, putting the Patriots up 23-7 after the extra point.

Another quarter later, another touchdown. Shortly after the start of the third quarter, Bennett made it a hat-trick, though his third touchdown certainly had an added degree of difficulty compared to the first two.

The 37-yard touchdown catch would put the Patriots up 30-7, with still more than 27 minutes to play.
