For the second straight week, Rob Gronkowski will not be on the field for the Patriots due to a lingering hamstring injury.

The tight end was listed on the Patriots’ inactives list for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Miami Dolphins. He was joined by guard Jonathan Cooper, linebacker Dont’a Hightower, offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle, defensive lineman Anthony Johnson, tight end A.J. Derby, and corner back Eric Rowe.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter had first reported news of Gronkowski’s status, citing a team source, earlier Sunday morning.

Gronkowski had practiced in a limited capacity ahead of the Patriots’ Week 2 home opener and was listed as questionable. The hamstring injury, suffered during an August practice, also kept him out of the Patriots’ season opener last week in Arizona. Cooper also missed the Week 1 game due to a hamstring injury.

The Patriots’ offense is already without star quarterback Tom Brady, who is suspended for the season’s first four games, and running back Dion Lewis, who will miss at least six weeks of the season following a second surgery on his injured left knee. Offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer is also expected to miss a significant amount of time, if not the season, due to a hip injury.

As for the Patriots’ opponents, the Dolphins are without center Mike Pouncey, wide receiver Justin Hunter, guard Dallas Thomas, running back Damien Williams, cornerback Jordan Lucas, linebacker Donald Butler, and running back Isaiah Pead.
