Wes Welker says he was invited to work out with Tom Brady

"He’s going to have me running like 2-minute drills in his backyard or something."

After throwing passes to Gisele Bündchen earlier in his four game suspension, it appears Tom Brady will have another workout partner this weekend.

In a radio interview on the Joe Rose Show in Miami, former Patriots receiver Wes Welker said that Brady has asked him to come up to catch some passes:

I hit him up to do dinner like Saturday night. He’s like, “I’m going to be flying in from Ann Arbor later, but how about that morning we go throw? And I’m just sitting there like, “I was just thinking about dinner, but yeah, sure. I’ll get over there early and we can throw a little bit.” But yeah, that’s the only thing we really have planned.

It’s just funny. I’m sitting there trying to have dinner and, ‘Hey, get your ass up here and let’s go throw.” I’m like, “Aw jeez, man.” He’s going to have me running like 2-minute drills in his backyard or something.

Welker, who played for the Patriots from 2007-2012, is currently a free agent.
