Chris Long wants to get into Tom Brady’s inner circle
New Patriots defensive end Chris Long shares something in common with most of New England: he wishes he was friends with Tom Brady.
On an appearance on ESPN Radio’s Russillo and Kanell, Long was asked if he was “anxious about not being close with Tom yet.”
Long responded, “Tom and I are like, semi-boys. I mean, we don’t go ‘bro out’ off the field.”
Lack of time together is definitely a factor – Long just joined the team this season after playing with the Rams – but he thinks there’s another aspect at play: “Julian [Edelman] is very protective of Tom. He doesn’t want the new guy to become close friends with Tom. You gotta go through Julian and Danny to get to Tom.”
Long finished by saying, “I’ve had a few conversations with the GOAT. He’s a really chill guy.”
