Danny Amendola on season opener: ‘I’m ready to roll’
After a preseason spent uncertain about his status, Danny Amendola says will be ready for the Patriots’ week 1 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.
“I feel good,” Amendola told reporters Tuesday. “I’ve been preparing a lot. So I feel strong, feel fast, so I’m ready to roll.”
The 30-year old receiver has been a consistent weapon for the Patriots since joining the team in 2013, playing in 42 of a possible 48 games. He missed 27 games over four seasons with the Rams.
Missing preseason action hasn’t affected Amendola’s approach to the game, as he’s prepared for a role as both a key part of the offense and as a returner on special teams.
“I’ve been ready, so doing my job, trying to get ready for my teammates, for this offense, for whatever my role will be on special teams and just like every other year, just get ready for Week 1.”
Jimmy Garoppolo is likely breathing a little easier today knowing he’ll have another option against a tough Cardinals defense.
