Tom Brady excused from practice Monday
Brady has been missing some action during training camp and preseason.
Excused for Sunday’s training camp practice, Tom Brady will be absent Monday, according to CSNNE.com. Brady’s absence is reportedly not due to injury reasons.
Brady was excused from the Patriots’ first preseason game due to a memorial for a family member. The Patriots quarterback reportedly missed the Patriots’ preseason game against the Bears after cutting his hand with scissors. The absence before the game against the Bears came as a surprise to backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who expected Brady to play on Thursday.
Garoppolo seems to be equally in the dark about Brady’s absence on Sunday and Monday. During his appearance on “The Dennis and Callahan Show” Monday morning, Garoppolo was asked why Brady has been excused.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” Garoppolo told WEEI. “It’s kind of like the game day, I thought he was going to start. … It’s just kind of how we roll around here though, you never know when your number is going to be called, you’ve always got to be ready, and it worked out pretty well.”
