Watch Julian Edelman show how healthy his foot is

The fleet-footed slot receiver looks just fine after an injury scare last week.

Despite an injury scare last week, Julian Edelman appears to be firing on all cylinders. AP

Julian Edelman slamming his helmet in frustration before limping off the field at training camp last week was an unnerving sight for Patriots fans trying to prepare for four games without Tom Brady.

But at joint practice with the Bears today, Edelman quieted lingering fears that he had reinjured his surgically repaired foot.

Edelman was actually back in action the very next day after the injury scare, toughing out the rain and heat with his teammates through the weekend, but seeing Edelman on the field and flashing his trademark quick-cuts has to bring peace of mind to Patriots’ fans dubious of the Brady-less offense.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe also shared this video of a drill emphasizing footwork and agility, and the wide receiver’s ease in planting his foot, turning on it, and pushing off of it should satiate even the most fretful fan.

Edelman, along with Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan, and Danny Amendola, among others, did not participate in Thursday night’s preseason victory over the New Orleans Saints. It is unclear whether he will suit up for the upcoming turn with Chicago.
