Julian Edelman left practice early on Tuesday. According to multiple reports, Edelman is not seriously injury.

Roughly an hour into the Patriots’ joint practice with the Saints, trainers looked at Edelman’s lower left leg. He walked slowly off the field, and exited to the rear away from the media and crowd. He had been present for much of training camp, but was in pads for the first time on Sunday.

Edelman underwent foot surgery on his left foot this offseason, according to ESPN.com. He suffered a broken foot in the Patriots’ Week 10 matchup against the Giants, and missed the remainder of the regular season. He returned for the Patriots’ two playoff games with a steel plate in his shoe.

On Sunday, he said he was “day-to-day.”

“It’s a progression,” he said after practice Sunday. “We’re going to go in here and evaluate things, see how it feels, then come out and do it again. It’s that kind of process so it’s a day-to-day thing. You just try to go out and improve each day on your fundamentals, try to get all those things back and then knock off all the rust and all that stuff. That’s where I’m at.”
