Patriots’ Jonathan Cooper carted off with apparent lower leg injury during practice
He went down while blocking during a contact drill.
Patriots guard Jonathan Cooper went down during practice on Saturday. He was carted off the field after trainers attended to his right lower leg. He collapsed during a pull block, running left across the offensive line from the right guard position.
Citing unnamed sources, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Cooper is dealing with a plantar fascia issue. He joined the Patriots in a trade that sent Chandler Jones to the Cardinals in March.
The 26-year-old broke his left leg during a preseason game in his rookie season. He is in the final year of his rookie contract after he was the seventh-overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
According to CSNNE’s Phil Perry, center Bryan Stork left practice for unknown reasons. Stork missed eight games last season due to head and concussion issues.
