The New England Patriots have been the most successful NFL franchise since the turn of the century.
But it wasn’t always that way, a fact that seasoned fans who remember the days of Jim Plunkett are always eager to remind those fortunate enough to have been born a few decades later. The team struggled through a lot of adversity en route to becoming the foremost NFL dynasty of the 21st century, and missed on a lot of draft picks before selecting Tom Brady with a miraculously fruitful sixth-round selection. But as much as Bill Belichick and Brady changed football culture in New England, there were plenty of star players lining up as Patriots well before Robert Kraft purchased the team in the 90’s. In an attempt to give them their due, and point out that every current star on the team was once just-a-guy fighting for a roster spot, here is our ode to Patriots training camp both past and present.
