Jamie Collins absent from first practice of training camp
Jamie Collins was not on the field for the Patriots’ first practice of training camp Thursday. The reason for his absence is not known.
Collins reported to training camp on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. CSNNE’s Tom Curran reports Collins’s absence was not contract-related. Via The Boston Globe, he had a spotless attendance record at OTAs and minicamp.
Collins finished the 2015 season with 89 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and an interception despite missing four games due to illness. He enters the final year of his rookie contract.
