Even with Tom Brady suspended, Todd Bowles and Jets aren’t ready to kick dirt on Patriots: “(Jimmy) Garoppolo can play,” Todd Bowles told the Daily News with a straight face. “They don’t worry about who they have. They just have a system in place and they go play football. I think people underestimate that. You still have to knock off the champs. It’s theirs until somebody takes it from them.” (NY Daily News)

Celtics, rookie Demetrius Jackson finalize four-year, $5.5m deal: Jackson, the 45th overall pick of last month’s draft, averaged 5.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists over eight summer league games with the Celtics this month.
