Tom Brady says he will ‘no longer proceed with the legal process’ in Deflategate
Brady will serve his 4-game suspension
Tom Brady’s battle over Deflategate appears to be over.
Tom Brady posted on Facebook on Friday to say he has “made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process.” If this remains true, Brady will serve his four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate, a ball deflating scandal that began during The 2015 AFC Championship Game.

In September 2015, Brady’s suspension was overturned in U.S. District Court, and he played for the entire 2015 season. However, the suspension was reinstated by the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in April. The 2nd Circuit Court also denied Brady’s request for a rehearing on July 13. Brady had the option of appealing his suspension to the supreme court, though many legal experts deemed that option a long shot.
Jimmy Garoppolo is the likely starter for the Patriots‘ first four games of the season.
