Watch Dion Lewis run through drills at his first practice since ACL surgery

Almost eight months removed from an ACL injury, the running back returned to the field.

Dion Lewis is back.

The Patriots running back returned to the field on Monday for his first practice since injuring his ACL during Week 9 of the 2015 NFL season.

“I wouldn’t consider it a milestone, I wouldn’t consider it a checkpoint. I just consider it another day working,” Lewis told reporters after practice.

He’s wearing jersey No. 33 in the videos below.

Lewis had a breakout season in his first year with the Patriots, and produced a handful of jaw-dropping highlights. During the 2015 season, the 25-year-old had 234 rushing yards, 388 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.
