Tom Brady
Tom Brady’s contract is win for the Patriots.
Brady’s four-year, $60 million deal includes $28 million signing bonus, via The Boston Globe’s Ben Volin.
Under his previous contract, Brady was set to earn $19 million in the next two years. The Patriots quarterback is now set to earn $30 million. For a point of comparison, newly signed Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler will make $37 million.
His base salary is $1 million in 2016 and 2017, and $14 million in 2018 and 2019. His cap hit for the Patriots will be $14 million in 2016 and 2017 and $22 million in 2018 and 2019. Because of his low salary in 2016 and big singing bonus, Brady’s new deal could save him $2 million in the event he needs to serve his four-game suspension for Deflategate.
Brady will have a per-game roster bonus in 2018 and 2019. Every game he’s active, he’ll recieve $62,500.
The deal is broken down at length by The Globe’s Ben Volin.
