Rob Gronkowski is signed with the Patriots through 2019, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday. The Patriots picked up a $10 million option for the tight end, which added four years onto his contract.

Gronk signed a six-year, $54 million extension in 2012. Via ESPN’s Field Yates, the contract included the $10 million option following the 2015 season which would enact another four years in New England. The Patriots already paid $4 million of that bonus during the 2015 season, which indicated the high likelihood the team would be picking up the option. The move does not affect the Patriots’ salary cap.

Had the team declined the $10 million option bonus, Gronkowski would have entered free agency.
