Jan. 14, 2006 AFC Divisional Round: Broncos 27, Patriots 13 — The Broncos turned four of New England’s five turnovers on the game into 24 points, including a 101-yard interception return by Champ Baily, as Denver took down the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Patriots by 14. The loss ended New England’s league-record ten-game postseason run, and it was also Tom Brady’s first ever postseason defeat.

Jan. 16, 2011 AFC Divisional Round: Jets 28, Patriots 21 — After losing 45-3 to the Pats in December, the Jets knocked New England out of the playoffs and advanced to their second consecutive AFC Championship game in quarterback Mark Sanchez’ first two seasons as a starter. Jets linebacker David Harris shined with nine tackles, three assists, and an interception.

6. Jan. 19, 2014 AFC Championship: Broncos 26, Patriots 16 — In their first road playoff game since 2006, the Pats traveled to Denver to take on Peyton Manning’s Broncos. Manning set a conference championship record with 32 completions for 400 yards and two touchdowns, while the Patriots didn’t score a touchdown until there were nine minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Jan. 20, 2013 AFC Championship: Ravens 28, Patriots 13 — After leading 13-7 at halftime, the Patriots were outscored 21-0 in the second half as they suffered their worst loss of the season and their lowest scoring total on the year. Ray Lewis had 14 tackles and Tom Brady lost his first career game at home when leading at half. The Ravens went on to beat the 49ers 34-31 in Super Bowl XLVII.

Jan. 24, 2016: Broncos 20, Patriots 18 — In their fifth straight AFC Championship game appearance, and their second in three years against Peyton Manning and the Broncos, the Patriots suffered their closest playoff loss in team history, losing by just two points. After completing a touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski in the final seconds, Tom Brady was picked-off in his two point conversion attempt to seal the Denver victory and Manning’s fourth Super Bowl appearance.

Feb. 5, 2012 Super Bowl XLVI: Giants 21, Patriots 17 — In a Super Bowl XLII rematch against New York, the Patriots had a 17-15 lead with 1:05 to go and one timeout remaining when New England let the Giants score in an attempt to get the ball back as soon as possible. Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw tried to hold up on the 1-yard line but his momentum took him into the end zone on one of the strangest plays in NFL history. The Patriots couldn’t capitalize on their last drive, however, and the Giants won Super Bowl XLVI.

Jan. 21, 2007 AFC Championshp: Colts 38, Patriots 34 — The Patriots went up 21-3 to start the game in Indianapolis before Manning brought the Colts all the way back to mark the largest comeback in an NFL conference championship. Manning finished with 349 yards and went on to win his only Super Bowl against the Chicago Bears.

1. Feb. 3, 2008 Super Bowl XLII: Giants 17, Patriots 14: The Patriots, who entered the game as massive favorites and with a perfect 18-0 record, led in the fourth quarter, 14-10, with 2:39 remaining. Then, Eli Manning and the Giants marched 83 yards down the field, including the historic helmet catch by David Tyree, to score the game winning touchdown with 35 seconds left. The game is regarded as one of the biggest upsets in the history of the NFL.
