CBS broadcast: Patriots’ tablets stopped working in first half vs. Broncos

Broncos tight end Owen Daniels scored following a series in which the Patriots were reportedly down some of their technology.

With 13:46 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game, CBS sideline reporter Evan Washburn reported a technology problem on the New England sideline.

“Well, Jim,’’ said Washburn, referring to play-by-play man Jim Nantz. “On the Patriots sideline here, they’re having some trouble with their Microsoft Surface tablets. That last defensive possession, the Patriots coaches did not have access to those tablets. The NFL officials have been working at it. Some of those tablets are back in use, but not all of them. They didn’t have them that last possession.’’

The Broncos scored a touchdown right before Washburn’s report, on a pass from Peyton Manning to tight end Own Daniels.

“I dont know if those tablets would have helped,’’ said CBS’ Phil Simms, chiming in right afte the touchdown play. “I know Peyton Manning’s saying, ‘How do you like my arm now?’’’
