Broncos fans name their kids after rival quarterbacks ‘Brady’ and ‘Peyton’
A Colorado couple took sibling rivalry to a new level when they decided to name their children after the Patriots’ Tom Brady and the Broncos’ Peyton Manning.
Despite being big Broncos fans, Brian and Marcie Weibler, of Littleton, named their first son Brady, now 10, after the Patriots won Super Bowl XXXIX over the Philadelphia Eagles. When Manning won a Super Bowl XLI with the Colts, the couple were in complete agreement on the name for their second son, Peyton, now 8, who was born the following August.

Marcie told Boston.com that both boys love their namesake’s team so much that Brady’s bedroom is Patriots-themed, while Peyton’s bedroom is decked out in Broncos orange.
“We didn’t instill this in them,’’ she said. “We told them once who they were named after, but then they went from there.’’
She said both her sons play multiple sports, and would like to play football when they are older. Brady in particular idolizes the Patriots quarterback, wanting to follow in his footsteps by playing football at the University of Michigan.
Brady will wear his quarterback namesake’s jersey during this Sunday’s AFC championship game. Peyton’s fandom now aligns with his parents’ favorite team. He’ll be sporting a Manning jersey.
Marcie said this game day will be particularly special for their family because it could be the last time the rival quarterbacks face off in the postseason.
“They’re just such good rivals,’’ Marcie said. “It’s going to be a great game.’’
