With 8:59 remaining in the second quarter of Saturday’s Patriots-Chiefs game, Kansas City’s Jamell Fleming stood near his own end zone, tracking a punt in the air. He didn’t see Danny Amendola coming.

The Patriots wide receiver led with his head and tackled Fleming, who went down in a heap. Amendola was flagged for unneccesary roughness, a penalty further explained by former NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira.
