Steven Jackson will reportedly sign with the Patriots
After kicking the tires on Steven Jackson, the New England Patriots must think the 33-year-old running back is ready to run.
Jackson will sign with the Patriots Monday, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

The Patriots reportedly worked out Jackson on Dec. 16. The running back has not played a snap during the 2015 season, but spent the 2014 season with the Atlanta Falcons, where he rushed for 190 carries, 707 yards, and six touchdowns. During his nine years with the Rams, he rushed for 1,000 or more yards in all but his rookie season.

Bill Belichick worked Jackson out during the lead-up to the 2004 NFL Draft. In 2012, he relayed his scouting report of the 6-foot-2, 236-pound back.
“I went out there and met with him and spent the whole day, pretty much the whole day with him out there — he was a very impressive individual,’’ Belichick said of Jackson, via WEEI. “Obviously a big, strong kid that runs well, that catches the ball very well. That’s very good in the passing game — he’s a little underrated in that area. Good in blitz pickup. A smart guy. Has really had an outstanding career. He was definitely a guy we were very much interested in. Like I said, I personally spent quite a bit of time with him.’’
