Peyton Manning is back at Denver Broncos practice Wednesday, but Brock Osweiler will get the start over Manning when the Broncos play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, coach Gary Kubiak announced.

But then what?

“That’s the next step: that [Manning] is coming back for practice,’’ Kubiak said, via CBSSports.com. “If you’re coming back to practice, then you’re working toward getting back on the field and playing.’’

The Broncos are 3-1 under Osweiler, and 7-2 under Manning. Since being named starter, Osweiler has averaged 249 yards per game and has thrown for four touchdowns and three interceptions. Before getting injured against the Chiefs on Nov. 15, Manning was averaging 242 yards per game, throwing nine touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

The Broncos have the third seed in the AFC, and have an appointment against the second-seeded Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 28.
