The injury woes continue for the New England Patriots.

The team announced on Tuesday that defensive tackle Dominique Easley has been placed on season-ending injured reserve. Easley suffered a thigh injury against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

On the Texans’ first drive of the game, Easley recorded his second sack of the 2015 season. The 23-year-old second-year defensive lineman was later injured during the second half. He appeared in 11 games this season. Easley also appeared in 11 games a rookie before his 2014 season ended on IR.

The Patriots also announced Tuesday that they have signed running back Montee Ball to the practice squad. Ball, 25, was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. In 21 regular-season games with the Broncos, Ball tallied 731 yards and five touchdowns on 175 carries. He was released in September 2015.

The addition of Ball to the practice squad came after Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount suffered a hip injury against the Texans during the second quarter on Sunday. Citing unnamed sources, WEEI’s Mike Petraglia and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Blount is out for the year with that injury.

The Patriots lost running back Dion Lewis to a season-ending knee injury in November. Running backs James White and Brandon Bolden have seen increased playing time since Lewis’s injury.

Entering Week 15, Blount is the Patriots’ leading rusher this season with 703 yards and six touchdowns on 165 carries.
